I have a client who needs to present *lots* of small components in an online store. I need a solution (ideally PHP but not essential) that will present, e.g., a screw fixing with photo, plus a table of 10 varients of the item with different screw thread diameters.

Each varient needs it's own product code and each table row needs a 'QTY' box (so someone can order more than one varient).

I confess I have no idea what would achieve this. The example sites I have found look custom built, but if anyone recognises the ecommerce applications used - or can recommend one that would do the job - I would be very grateful!

The other one looks like a custom java app on a apache server. Maybe tomcat inabled...

The 'commerce starter kit' solution looks very impressive, but getting my head around Visual Studio, ASP .NET and SQL2000 is a learning curve I could do without at the moment.

It turns out I can achieve a similar product listing (single line entries + QTY box) by hacking templates in Zen Cart, so I'll try that for now.

Why don't you try the osC (osCommerce) XOOPS module by flinkUX.de?

It's basically an osCommerce pack with some pre-installed osCommerce contributions. Then you can find other contributions at osCommerce and make a rocking shop!
