why do you need to be an expert on php...phppp maybe ...yet it's not that hard ....
1)
You need Framework in root folder as that is things like transfer pdf print ect...
2)
You need xoopseditors as that means you can make anything online...with drag and drop
3)
And then just stick newbb/cbb in the modules folder and press install...

I use it on my home computer as a word pad type thing; where you can drag and drop folder into it to make quick links for articles...yet I uninstall and mess around; re-installing it every time it gets a mess....so it not hard just seems that way with everyone moaning

My mummy says you should use CBB 1.16a 'cos everything works... but probably only with XOOPS 2.0.13.2. I asked Daddy too, but he said a rude word.

Yeah - me

First module I installed, too.

You need to do three things:

1. Download the latest Frameworks and upload the /Frameworks directory to your website root
2. Download the latest xoopseditors and upload the directory to the website root/class directory
3. Download CBB3.07 and install the module in the usual way.

TIP:
Make sure that you upload the correct directories from the .zip files. The correct directory, i.e. the one with the files in, might be a sub-directory of a number of superfulous upper directories. Why they are available like that I can't understand

You should now have the following directory structure:

website root/Frameworks
website root/class/xoopseditors
website root/modules/newbb

Install the module in the usual way.

To get the xoopseditors working you must "enable HTML" in the individual forums (not the "categories").

Visit my site (see sig) as proof that they work. The site is not yet open, but there is a test forum with posts made by both Koivi and FCKeditor.

Hope this helps.

@JAVesey
Can you say whether the 'View new posts' feature now works? Selecting that menu option should display a list of new topics since the user last visited the site (not a list of all topics). There were problems with this feature in previous CBB 3.* versions.

Sorry - I don't know and can't tell at the moment.

I'm still building the site and only have one other registered user doing a bit of testing in another area. There are no new posts for me to check at the moment.

I'll get the other user to make a post. I'll then login and check.
