Hello people!
I'm new to this forum, but i'm using XOOPS since some months ago.

For some reason I cannot complete registration on the SmartFactory forum, so I came here in hope for some help :)

I'm currently using SmartSection module (version 1.05) on XOOPS 2.0.13.2

I would like that when EDITING an existing article, registered users couldn't access the Admin area but be able to modify the article only from the web site itself, as happening on News 1.44 module which I am also using.

I created a new group of users, and i unset administration permissions for Smartsection module from the Groups System panel, but anyways when one of these users tries to modify an article, he is redirected to the Admin panel where he may be able even to erase categories, and i ABSOLUTELY need to avoid this!

I would like that only the Webmaster (me) and few registered users could access the Admin area, and all the other user groups could post new articles or modify older ones WITHOUT accessing Admin panel.

Obviously anonimous users can't write nor review articles, because it's not a community site.

Any idea on how to solve this problem? Thanks in advance :)

UP!!!

I've upgraded to SmartSection 2.12RC1 but i still need a workaround for the above problem!

And also, i can't understand how module permission is working.

I created a group, with one user, who would be allowed to post and modify articles only in one specific category.

1) i tried assigning Smartsection global edit permission to the group from XOOPS admin panel, and then specify edit permission only to the category from Smartsection permission panel, but the user's still able to post and modify articles in EVERY category (even if he was not the original author)

2) so i disabled the group edit permissions in Smartsection from XOOPS admin panel, and like above, specified edit permission to the category in SS permission panel, but it's behaving the same way. User can insert and modify articles in the whole SS module.

3) then i disabled even reading permission from XOOPS admin panel and nothing...

At this point, i suppose i have a problem with permissions :P

Anyone could help pls?
