I have News set as the module to show on the start page. It works fine, but I need to limit who can view some topics. I want anonymous users to be able to view news in a topic called All News, but I want Registered Users to view all topics.
The problem is that if I set News as the start page module, it shows all news in all topics, even if I set the permissions so that anonymous users do not have view access to other topics.

Is there any way to get the permissions to work properly when News is set as the start page module?

News version 1.44
Xoops version 2.0.15
Thanks

Look in control panel/preferences/news for:

Restrict Topics on Index Page?

If set to yes, users will only see news items listed in the index from the topics, they have access to as set in News Permissions.

thank you very much. I looked all over for a setting like that. My eyes passed over that a few times, not sure how I missed it now that you pointed it out.

Thanks again.
