When I log into my site (as normal user or admin), I get a blank page. WTF... All I have done since it worked is edit a language file, and it seems to be correct. It seems that it is not just logging in either - it's all pages in the root directory, other than index.php, even lostpass.php. What in the world can I have done to get something this wrong?

IMO, it looks as if it issues die() without telling me why...

All aid highly appreciated!

If the blank page ocures wherever the edited laguage file has values...why not try to restore backuped files and see if the problem persists (asuming you have a backup)

That's it.. I didn't think that editing a lingo file would have any kind of effect (the syntax is all correct) would have an effect on the directory wide language. it would help if I knew which files were used by a certain file (eg, which of the files in /language/english/ were used by user.php)

Or is it all of them?
Perhaps I should install XOOPS again somewhere else and copy the files over...

not really...why not just overwrite the edited files with the original ones from a fresh XOOPS package ?!

yes, that might be a better idea

and this time keep backups, maybe?
it was a lot of work translating them :P

at the moment I am trying to find the event in the logfile, but well... the hoster is one.com (not at all my choice), and the admin panel doesn't really help much in that respect...

I did lots of XOOPS translation and every time i had blank pages i was 1000% sure that it wasn't my fault...at the end there were some ( ; " ' ) deleted by mistake and overlooked like 10.000 times when re-recheking the files

hell, I know what that's like!!

it seems that the server is not available.. the only mirror I get is Kent university, which gives me a timeout after about two years waiting...

I guess it will be a little while before I fix this...

what language you changed?

main language? branch at XOOPS/language
or module lnaguages?

you can try to upload files one by one and see results.

another way is you can download your translation and try to use them in LOCAL site and found the problem there.

it was the system language, or at least that's what I HOPE it was, cause that's where I put them. the thing is that I'm not the one doing the ACTUAL translation. I'm not proficient enough in Norwegian to make it sound good on a Norwegian site - I'm too used to English on the web, and I'd make it #OOPS#ised english.

It was the XOOPS/language/ files though.

Another thing that annoys me is the Norwegian characters - æ,ø and å, if you can read them... I have to keep replacing them with "æ,ø and å" all the time, which makes it confusing to read. I don't think this has anything to do with it though, since it worked before...
