I have modified the httpd.conf, but Appache can not start with the error message saying "make_sock: counld not bind to address 127.0.0.1:6699 no listing sockets available, shutting down. Unable to open logs"

Re: How to set port other than default 80 port

you should change your httpd.conf to what it was. then you should g2 services and check if IIS server is running. If it is running, shut it down cuz IIS server and Apache don't run together. If you don't have IIS server running, then you have something else running on port 80. then you can see what's running on port 80 by going to the command line and entering netstat.

check this link out:

http://www.faqs.org/docs/linux_network/x-087-2-iface.netstat.html

hope this might help you some. good luck
