I've just upgraded from 2.0.14 to 2.0.15, by copying all changed files to the server and then upgrading the system module.
After the upgrade I get a very strange error during login:

Quote:

An Exception Has Occurred
The root "xoops" is unknown. If you believe the value is correct, then please double-check your configuration.
HTTP Response Status
404 Repository not found
Python Traceback

The site appears to work flawless - but that error really annoyes me. It's only shown during login.

I've tried to activate the debugmode in xoops, but it reports nothing.

Could it be due to some XOOPS error, or should I just immediately complain to my web provider?
Best regards,
Daigoro

I've now tried to revert back to 2.0.14 one file at a time, and I can't make the error disappear, so I guess it must be something that has happened on my host's system... or?

What's really making me wonder, is that the word "xoops" is part of the error.

I'd really appreciate to get some help with this!
Best regards,
Daigoro

I can guarantee that there is absolutely no Python code in Xoops.

First check your local XOOPS files then contact your host if you don't get anywhere.

Are you running your XOOPS out of a cvs environment? (i know some people do)

If you google that error (404 Repository not found) you will see it pop up in conjunction with many different systems. On a quick look there are tons of results but i found no all explaining one. Though i didnĀ“t not search long.
Sorry, this signature is experiencing technical difficulties. We will return you to the sheduled signature as soon as possible ...

Thanks for your reply, Bender.

I don't think my provider (A commercial web-provider) has a CVS environment. If they do, they've never told me about it.

I notice the script that apparently breaks is viewvc.py, which apparently is part of ViewVC (http://www.viewvc.org/)- again something that's used for CVS.

I'm wondering if there could be any CVS stubs embedded somewhere in xoops, that somehow triggers the error.

I've written to my provider, asking if they can help me track down this error (They still haven't answered), but I'd like to make sure it's not coming from the XOOPS installation.
I just have no idea about where to start searching for the error.
Best regards,

I've just gotten a reply from my host, where they basically say:

1) We don't support Phyton.
2) We do not have any problems with any of our servers.
3) We don't have ViewVC or any parts of it installed.
4) It appears your code try to execute Phyton code, which is not possible on our server.

But I can't find anything in my XOOPS installation that remotely looks like it's calling any Phyton code.

Argh!

My problem suddenly dissapeared,

...and now I can't recreate it.

Strange.

I commented out the reload meta-tag in system_redirect.html to study the output more (and found out it was actually two complete html pages, stacked ontop of each other. First the error, then the expected header).

Then when I had saved the output, I replaced the original system_redirect.html template, and after that the error dissapeared.

This really annoyes me, as I now have absolutly no idear what it is that went wrong.

My guess is my provider did actually fix it, after I wrote to them.

I hope never to see that error again!!
Best regards,
Daigoro
