Hi

I am looking for a photo gallery/album module that allows me to add remotely hosted pictures on.

for example:

http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/42047000/jpg/_42047784_hooliganzalso.jpg

I dont want to download this picture and reupload it to my host, I want to link it directly into my album.

please help ASAP

regards

offsite linking without permission is ilegal within the EU and posibly other places in the world. Its regarded as bandwidth theft and in some cases copyright theft and some websites are clamping down on it by banning websites URL's for doing it.

You should only use this method if the website allows it.

And downloading it and reuploading it to your site may also be ilegal.

Thank you for your legal advice.

The actual fact is the following:

I pay for a host of a few gigs somewhere, but it doesnt support PHP.

I also pay for another host with limited space, that does support PHP + MySQL !!!

I want to put my GIGS of photos onto server number 1, and use my XOOPS which is installed on server number 2 to publish them.

I own copyrights of both sites. The pictures are personal pictures. I pay for bandwidth for both sites.

I hope that helped you understand my situation.

So,, any suggestions ?

ahh, right. Just with you using the bbc image as an example I thought you where wanting to link to that.

but i understand now. I do the same thing with my cafepress and photobucket stuff.

hmmm. I have had a dig thru the module repository, dont think there are any gallery modules that do this (i may be wrong). Maybe someone can come up with a hack to allow this.
