I believe after looking through the modules and files that I can accomplish this using XOOPS, I just need a little guidance if possible.

I am planning on creating a memorial site.
I would like people who want to leave a memorial to be able to log in and create their own tribute page. It would have to include a photo. I think possibly a blog would work? They would submit to the correct blog category.

Then I would like to on the main page to show the last two or three tributes (not the whole thing, but maybe the image thumbnail and a line of text).

Do you think this could be accomplished easily with XOOPs?
And if yes, which modules do you think would be best.

Thank you for any help.

Welcome,

I think that you can use userpage or weblog modules.

Cheers

Thank you, I just installed the userpage, however, I can't see how to set it up to allow users to post a photo or two.

Going to look at some of the other modules, but will appreciate any input on something I might miss.

There was another module that seemed perfect "Members Homepages 1.01" but the webpage is gone. Anyone have this or know where I can get this?

shadey, check the following https://xoops.org/modules/news/article.php?storyid=1994& for the Mebers Homepage though it has much negative reviews and I don't think it exists anymore.

Right, that was the one but their homepage is gone. I hadn't read all the reviews.

Does anyone know of something similar, or can someone help me develop one, I will glady pay. I want to get this site launched but I just can't get the blogs or any of that stuff to work the way I want.

Thanks.

I would try Smartsection from smartfactory. As an admin you could allow users to submit their own 'articles' (tributes) including all html. That will allow images etc. Of course you can preview and moderate these PRIOR to publication if you want. Use a block to display the latest 'tributes'

Smartsection provides categories as well see it HERE

Thanks will check it out. Although the SmartSection is doing what I need (except resizing the picture uploaded to show a thumbnail in the random article on the main page block).....
