Maybe you could post some more information about the server.

Win/Lin
Apache version
Cpu speed
Memory etc etc etc.

Cpu: Intel Celeron 2.4 Ghz 400Mhz Bus

Memory: 512MB DDR System Memory
Storage: Single 80GB Hard Drive
Transfer: 2000 GB per month ( 10 mbps)

LAMP:
Linux: fedora core4
Apache: 1.3.37
Mysql: 4.1.22
PHP: 4.4.3
its a small dedicate server i force to move because in the shared server i over load cpu but still in the new server i have this problem.

my site dont grow up in the past 5 month.
And yes i have traffic about 8 million hits per month.

but its not the case because i dont have this problem before.

8 million hits monthly,.,.,nicely done ;)

That matter stays difficult. I think you should monitor the server and website to get more information about the problem at hand.

Try to collect:
Traffic at hours - visitors - hits - cpu usage -
Maybe it only peaks at times, but you'll get a more detailed overview.

Second,.do you use Zend optimiser for your php, if not, you have to recompile apache incl the optimizer flag (if I can remember correctly). If you not use to compile in Linux systems, than DON'T!!!!

Third, have a look at your php.ini file, maybe the server only uses the 8MB limit for php programs.

Four, look at your apache.conf file, have a look howmany child processes may run at once.

Some small tips I know,.but you'll have to start somewhere.

its in php.ini about the case:

;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
; Resource Limits ;
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

max_execution_time = 30 ; Maximum execution time of each
max_input_time = 60 ; Maximum amount of time each script
memory_limit = 8M ; Maximum amount of memory a script may

Try to set the memory limit to 16M, but be carefull, as adjusting config parameters is never a good thing when you don't know what you are doing.

Leave it at 16M for a day and have a look how the server reacts. Change it back if there are no improvements.

support reply me this:
-->

There is very very high access to the database -
********

The memory is short by atleast 1GB. I'll recommend an additional RAM of 1GB on your server. Similarly,. I would also recommend a dual xeon processor for your server. A celeron processor won't be able to handle suuch heavy load.

Regarding your questions,

memory_limit for php is set as 8MB. But increasing that will further increase the load as your server is severely short of memory. We can increase that only after increasing the RAM on the server.

Regarding the apache variables, here are the apache performance setting on your server: ...
<--
so i want to know is this cpu and Ram cant be enough for just one site?

also what Cpu and Ram use in xoops.org server?
