Hi

I running XOOPS 2013 and have changed the current template not to show banners.

It has now become obvious that my site would beneifit the use of banners and banner management.

I noticed that the default template uses one banner in the header. Can anyone point me in the right direction to incorporate more banners effectively?

I have noticed that there are a couple of phpadnews releases available as modules, the latest with comments that it doesnt work properly within xoops. Has anyone got this or an earlier version working properly?

Ideally I would like three banners in the header(two small, one large), two on the right hand side (one small and one vertical) and at least three banners in the footer(as header). I know I can create right blocks and place the banners within but then I dont really have any management, click counts etc

Can anyone suggest a logical approach to solving this dilemma?

Thanks in advance

You can try the stand alone version of PHPAdsNew, visit their website. It's a complete ad campaign management program. It's looks a little complex, but if you read the manual, you will find it to be a very useful program.

I certainly would go with MSDana's recommendation of PHPAdsNew. It works fine stand alone and supplies code that you can then paste into blocks as zones for banner display.

I've got a simple implmentation of it on bloodfin.org but it can do so much more than that.

I think http://www.xoops-tips.com has an article on using this.

Hi

Thanks for the info

Im looking into phpadsnew for my site now.

One question

I run many websites on my recent upgrade to a dedicated server, does anyone know the best way to install so I can offer to other clients too?

Am I better installing per server or per domain?

thanks in advance

I have it installed on my work site, but use it for other clients as well. You can add multiple campaigns for different clients.

Cool

Wading my way through the documentation as we speak, there's certainly enough, any tips?

Yep, read the manual

Seriously, it's a pretty detailed manual but it provides great instructions on a pretty powerful program. I actually printed it out and keep it handy in case I need it

Also, do a test "campaign", you can then get a hands-on feel without the worry of messing something up
