Greetings:

I am brand new to Xoops, but did decide to adopt it for my own BBS relaunch in place of other forum/community portal software.

I downloaded and installed the newbb module and I am running the latest versions of both from here.

My test environment is a Macintosh Mini running OS 10.4.7 with Apache 1.3/PHP 5.1.4/MySQL Max 5.

The initial XOOPS setup (without the newbb module) works as expected and I am currently just testing so I have not yet began to tweak the themes.

When I login (I am of course Webmaster) and click on the CBB button, the browser returns the error "You Don't Have the right to access this forum" and drops me to the homepage.

I have set the permissions to 777 to see if it was a UNIX permission issue, and that did not help.

What have I done wrong?

EDIT: I plan to build a FreeBSD box when my site goes live.

You need to set permissions from within CBB config in the admin panel.
