Hello,

I would like just to know if multiple module installation is possible. I know that some modules like "XLHD" can do multiple installations by just renaming the module folder. What I am looking at specifically is the CATADS 1.4 classifieds module; what I plan to do is make a "city" specific classifieds and I was hoping to do this by multiple installations of the catads, which after several tries I found out is not possible. Is there a way to make this possible? Any replies/comments are welcome.

Thank you !!

You should read the last security issues.
And if you don't care about that you may
download X-Defacer, a Mikhael tool coded
with Lua for the XOOPS Cube community. It
lets you rename almost everything. While
personalizing 100% your installation, it
may turn your site hard to be hacked. Add
Gijoe's Protector - better worth to prevent!

Best Regards,

Hi Damaster,

I've read the guide of cloning a module:

Author: thecat (Claude)
Author's URL: http://thecat.ouvaton.org/
Original Article: The cloning of a module

and it seemed very tedious of going through the code of every file (php/html/sql) and changing "catads" to "catads2" (I'm using catads 1.4 module as an example). So what I did is found a freeware software that will go through the code for me and change it automatically. Actually I used 2 freeware:

1. To change the code itself, I used:

BK ReplaceEm

URL: http://www.orbit.org/replace/

2. To change filenames (ex.: catads.html to catads2.html)

TheREname

URL: http://www.herve-thouzard.com/verren.phtml?version=216

I was able to clone the module (without removing the credits , of course), upload it, and install/configure it in less than 10 minutes.

I would just like to share this method I used for anyone of you who wanted to clone modules.

Once again, thank you !!!
