How to set the member profile field?

I want to modify the field of member's info, like which field is required for the member to fill and I could select which field is not need to be asked.
For example, I don't want the ICQ field to be displayed in member's account.
I didn't find any module can do that.

I want the same thing, but it doesn't seem to exist without hacking it yourself.

Regarding XOOPS 2.0.x, the answer is in the FAQ
Regarding XOOPS 2.x.x, the intergraded Extended Profiles gives you what you want
