cannot access my own site while closed for maintenance - HELP!

Some user complained being unable to login and my newbb forum did somehow not allow new posts, so I closed my site for maintenance... big mistake

now I seem to experience the some problem my user complained about. Allthough I am recognized as Webmaster with access rights 'Thank you for registering...' (registered user get the 'you don't have permission...' msg) I am redirected to the login page and cannot access the admin or any other page.

Is there any way to reopen the site by copying or editing files via ftp?

What about the original problem why are some user unable to login and the newbb forum does not allow new posts?

Please help, I need my site

You will need to access the database through phpmyadmin to reopen the site directly. The table to search is:

(your prefix)_config

Look for the table:

"closesite"

Will probably be a value of "1" change it to "0"

See if the user has a firewall, or browser setting blocking referrer information to your website.

nope, that's not it, they followed my FAQ (referrer/cookie check).

It sounds like the same prob I had myself when the site was closed (and now I can login), they get the 'thank you...' msg and are redirected back to the login page.

And at the same time the newbb forum stopped allowing any posts, there must be a connection...

Maybe search the CBB Development Forum and see if you can find answers there.
