Fatal error: Only variables can be passed by reference in /.../html/modules/smartsection/index.php on line 182

Installed SmartSection. Created a Category. Created an article. Go to homepage. Click on smartsection. Blank page. Turned PHP debug on. Error.

Any help?

Which Xoops, which php? which mysql? which smartsection version?
