I'm sure I should know the answer but I'm having severe brainfade.

The site is 2.0.13.2
the forum version is 1
I want to upgrade the forum so I uploaded newbb2 and tried 2.3 but each time when I click on the upgrade I end up with half the modules vanishing and no forum.

Have reinstalled the backup and am back to normal now.

What on earth am I doing wrong?

Are you losing half the forum
or have you when you upgraded
also refreshed templates and set permission again if moving from 1------>2
you need to as it is a more advanced system.

after I upload the new files to the newbb folder for some reason in modules/system/admin.php?fct=modulesadmin only a few of the modules appear, the forum is not one of them and all not yet installed modules also do not appear.
I tried upgrading the system module is it is one of the few that appear but I just get a blank screen.

However when I revert to the old forum everything appears as normal.

This is a real wind up,

Followed the read me to the letter,

Deleted files in old newbb folder
Uploaded new files
Ran the newbb1 to newbb2 script
Uploaded the modified main.php in /modules/system/admin/modulesadmin
deleted the templates_c files except for index.php

Result is a blank site, admin page is ok but on the module page everything from where the Forum module box is and below is blank.

Any clues please

Have you set the permissions for each forum?

Permissions were set for the old forum,
cant get near the permissions on the new forum as,
once I upload the new files the forum module ceases to exist on the module admin page as does every other module that would be listed below it.

Does anyone know if newbb has the ability to allow users to upload files? If yes, where can I find this setting in the admin pages to do so? Thanks.
