If your site is a technology news site, I recommend only providing Technology News. You have news about Harry Potter, fashion, and North Korea (interesting perhaps, but not technology oriented).

I, also, recommend getting more relevant and fewer ads on the site. The ads I saw were about mortgages etc. Also the ads were the predominant item visible on arriving at the site. I'm not sure this is what you want. I know I bolt from ad heavy sites...

Well, Its a mainly technology site but i do put other stuff onto it anything that fits into these categorys will go on to it:

Apple
Deals
Designs
Gaming
Hardware
Links
Linux/Unix
Mods
Movies
Music
Programming
Robots
Science
Security
Software
Technology
Windows

About the ads well do you think i should remove the ones from the top and maybe place one ad per new inline the text?

I recommend a more focused site personally. As I noted, I also dislike ads especially when they are "in your face".

You might want to look at some of the technology XOOPS sites that are already out there to get some ideas on how others have done this.

Here's a few:

xoopsgroups
xoopsfactory
smartfactory
it-hq

among others.

Note I didn't mention any of my sites.
