Hello all,
My name is Marc Green, and I run website called golden-road.net...a little fan-based site about The Price is Right. After three years of operating with Nuke / PHPBB, the need finally came to switch to a more up-to-date and user-friendly system -- hence XOOPS / CBB.
With the assistance of some of our members, we were able to get everything up and running fairly quickly, and we went live just this past Sunday. So far, so good...most of our users are happy and are getting used to the changes. However, there are a handful of minor issues that we are having some problems figuring out. Hopefully you experts can help us out. To begin with:
With Nuke, a user's session did not expire until the user either pressed "logout" or the user deleted his or her cookies. It did not matter if the user closed the brower, went on vacation for a week, or went to lunch for an hour...when the user came back they were still logged into the system.
With the changeover to Xoops, we've gotten a great deal of feedback suggesting that accounts are logged out after a period of inactivity -- we believe this to be one hour. We'd really like to able to keep the users logged in, similar to how it used to be. Looking at our System-->General Settings menu, we have adjusted our "Session Expiration" to 20160, or two weeks. Is there something else that needs to be done to make this happen...what is it that I'm missing?
