Uhhmmm... kinda curious what might have caused this error suddenly to occur - because one thing is for certain.. it isn't because I dont have enough memory.. I got 1 gig on this server.. but why does it give me this error.

Comes when I try to install new modules.. comes when I try to view a user profiles...

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 12 bytes) in /home/www/renegade.insane-asylum.dk/kernel/object.php on line 173

Any clues?

No XOOPS specific advise but:

http://www.experts-exchange.com/Web/Web_Languages/PHP/Q_21066345.html

Possible solutions by setting the momory limit higher. Of course its preferable to find the cause but i have no idea there.

Did you try a restart of your web services? (apache or whatever)

Seems other users have this error to in regards to places where a lot of users are handled (several thousands) so it could be a similar issue.

Try to google xoops.org for this error message:
Search string:

"Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted" /kernel/object.php site:www.xoops.org
