seemingly it's dangerous to keep that directory, so should i delete it after completing the installation?

hah... sorry just went to the admin part, and read it. sorry but it wasn't in the installation instructions, please delete this thread.

Yes, and when you access admin part of your site, there will be big red notice to do that and to make mainfile.php 444
