Re: Admin can't do ANYTHING

Most modules do not support PHP 5 yet, and XOOPS will not be fully MySQL 5 compatible until at least 2.4 version. So first I would if possible try different versions of these products.

Any other errors besides just being logged out? Is protector installed?

Same problem of an admin who cannot administrate.
Not so fun.
MySQL 5.0.16, PHP 5.1.2, Apache 2.0.55, WinXP Home
Please tell in "All about XOOPS" to newcomers like me
that we shall NOT install the latest versions of
MySQL and the like.
Better : say "you shall install this and only this !"
Also I had troubles with mainfile.php :
I've typed the informations and manually created the file.
Solutions ? Should I uninstall and start again ?

Are you using IE6 ?
In my case it works fine with Firefox (after downgrading to MySQL 4).
It seems that there is a cookie issue with IE6,
or maybe with cookie expiration time.
If some reader understands it, check :
http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.session-set-cookie-params.php

There is also a discussion close to this link
http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.setcookie.php#48838
mentioning the need to use P3P in IE6.
I do not understand this stuff!

Does XOOPS need a change to run in IE6?

I've identified the issue as related to using IE with a local URL like //localhost:8080.
I've created a http://www.something.xxx in hosts file and now IE admits the cookies, solving my problem.
