This happened a while ago but i didn't really realise what had happened.
basiaclly i don;t know where to go to set the permissions for register.php

help please

ok ok i shall leave this as a note for anyone else that has this problem.
1. In permissions goto the anonymous users section
2. Find the module access rights to 'Extended profiles'
3. Tick the box
4. Register.php should now work

for 2.0.x in admin -> SYSTEM ADMIN -> Preferences -> User Info Settings ... there is option "Allow new user registration?" Should be Yes ...
..

i dont have that link in my menu after following your path
do you have a link to the php file so i can enter it manually?

/edit - found it in general settings it was set to yes but still doesnt work?

'Extended profile' is part of XOOPS 2.2.x - I'm not familiar with that version :(

But what is the problem?
New users could not register? (if that is the case is there some message, how about PHP debug)

Or there is no link "Register" - It is part of "LogIn" block

Or you want to add it to your theme or create custom block with "Register" link?

the only fault that showed up with all/any of the debug bits was 'unabale to register user'

i ahve permissions set so anon can access register.php now
and have got allow user registration turned on
still does it though - will check my dev server to see if that has any problems there as well

I'm having problems with the register page too. It can be accessed and the permissions are set to allow new users.
However, when the form is submitted visitors are redirected to a blank page and the information isn't entered into the database.
I turned on PHP Debug and got this error message:

I'm running version 2.0.13a
Anyone got any idea what it means? Or even if it's relevant to my problem?
