I'm wondering why page works really slow, I have 2.2.3. Does it have to do anything with modules??

You can optimize fields in your phpMyAdmin (lil icon with a ray), same thing happened with my forums, till I optimized some auth fields and now it runs really fast.

Beware, indexing will make your db bigger, so dont optimize everything...

Make sure you set your caching correctly as this can make a great difference to the speed of your site.

Try to find out if MySQL database access is the reason:

Just asking...
Did you install your new XOOPS on a new server or hoster.
If so, maybe that's the aswer looking within you hoster.
That the proccesor is to slow or combi with memory.
My site takes about 0.19sec @ 99 qeuries.

Don't know, just asking...
