I am not able to get XOOPS to send activation email, but it will send all other emails. What am I missing?

Are you sure XOOPS is set to send activation e-mails and not to automatically activate them?

I did try to register on the site but your access permissions will not allow me to.
All I could suggest is re-upload the profile module, you shouldn't lose anything unless you uninstall the module (don't), as the data is kept in a database.
That may do the trick, but if not I wouldn't really know for sure without trying it myself.
