I've got a problem over here and i can't get it fixed!
I've been searching for a lot of websites that maybe can solve my problem, but, with no success...

A time ago i started using Xoops.
I did the folowing steps:

- starting filling in the form with the correct data.
- everything was writeble and every blok was green (the blocks left of the echotext)

But then:

He comes up with a blanc page with this error:

Fatal error: MySQL extension not loaded in C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\html\class\database\mysqldatabase.php on line 74

Who or What could solve this problem?

I've got MySQL 5.0 & Php 5.1.2 working perfect!

I hope there's anyone that has an anwer on this...

2 things here probably working together against you.

First XOOPS has not been tested with MySQL 5 and there may be some compatibility issues.

Second the MySQL extension is not loaded by default in PHP 5 and will need to be manually added at config time.

And one other thing to consider, even though XOOPS will work well with PHP 5 most modules are not compatible with it yet. So you still may have some troubles after you get things working. Check the PHP docs about PHP 5 and adding MySQL support at PHP.net.

So...if i should uninstall PHP5 and install PHP4 it should work? and the same with mysql?

Yes one of the options you should still select is --with-mysql,

Should work then, unless MySQL is in a nonstandard location them you would have to give an explicit path to the data dir.

Oke, MySQL is installed at the standard location! and what do you mean with :

OK thanks! it works....but now i get a next error:

check database


Could not connect to the database server.


Please check the database server and its configuration.


And i've uninstalled MySQL 5 and installed version 4 and still it doesn't work?

Any ideas?

Check your database username and password. Make sure also to grant full permissions to that user.

It won't work

I've assigned a new password for "Root" and with MySQL administrator on the user administration page at the global privileges, i set all "available privileges" to "Assigned Privileges"

I have to access my site at my computername:
http://ddewilt-des85

But i connect my root with localhost..
Is that the problem?

Hi ddewilt,

maybe you should give a try for a LAMP or WAMP installation according to your OS.
Them having the advantage, that all dependencies of Apache, MySQL an PHP being built by the setup.

I am using XAMPP on a WinXP System and had never any trouble.
