News Module: Webmaster can't edit articles

I know this seems odd, but apparently I have it setup or something with the software is making it so that those in the webmaster group cannot edit an article, even if that article happens to be from the same webmaster.

I'm using News 1.4 with XOOPS 2.2.3

Permissions table for news module

Approve:
Others: none
Regular users: none
Webmasters: all

Submit:
Others: none
Regular users: all
Webmasters: all

View:
Others: all
Regular users: all
Webmasters: all

And these are the only things I can access. Is there more permissions for things like editing that hasn't been implemented that I'm not aware of?

Did you give webmasters the module access rights for the news module in admin - users - groups?

Yes, I've checked the groups and made sure that the Webmasters group has administration access. I even re-installed the module to make sure that it installed with those permissions, checked the permissions in the groups admin, and then attempted to do this and it seems to still say I have no editing permissions.

I've installed News2 and News 1.44 from the module repositories and found that they both allow the webmaster group to edit articles.

I was having the exact same problem- until I upgradeed from News 1.4 to 1.44. Now, I can edit as webmaster.
