Madfish,

As you may or may not know these ideas are just some which I've relayed over the years, it's a bloody good idea, and the community could get what they want alot quicker.

Sites like scriptlance, or guru could be used, the XOOPS community and programmers could get involved if they wish, but just to ensure we have enough bids, posting it on these site would alow a more to get involved.

Or a custom module could be made then, used on XOOPS for this exact thing, XoopsLance.

Marco, When are we expecting this superior download module, I had heard all WF projects had gone to Smart, which is cool I hope to see some good work done.

about core modules, i personaly think that our main priority is not them in a near future

But then it won't be an out the box solution, but rather just a framework.

Since I've been back, I been looking at the modules I have and trying to get the latest versions and upgrade everything, however it's proving #OOPS# hard, due to things like poor upkeep on the repositories, core modules discontinued.

So what is the best news module now, I like the look of Herves version, but I guess, seems there now certification this is not the official one?

I completely agree with Tom.
After installing XOOPS 2.2.4 I was really astonished when I discovered the modules list was empty.

On the other hand, I appreciate the new design: very well done, much more intuitive item organization.

Especially when installing modules and in blocks management.

Regards,
RealMabu.

Considering the move was only a few weeks ago, the Smartteam has been working very hard on the first stable release of WF-Downloads.

The RC version can be downloaded from the repository here - or from our site at: http://www.SmartFactory.ca - a new release will be out in the very near future.

mmmm didnt someone say XOOPS is not supporting/developing the 2.2 version any more, that means you just installed an obsolete version of xoops.

This whole versioning thing is getting very complicated here at xoops.

Hey David,

It's good to hear someone is still developing, didn't realise it's only been in the last two weeks though.

So what was the reason WF-Projects ended?

Not strictly obsolete:

2.2.4 will be upgradable to 2.4.

2.2.3 will be upgradable to 2.3, then later 2.4.

Few weeks - 4 weeks I think (I lose track of time! ) - as for the rest, well check the news release on the wf-site or at http://www.smartfactory.ca

2.4, how far away is that, because first we have 2.2.4 2.2.5 and so on to 2.3.1 2.3.2 and so on again, so you could be stuck we one version for a long period of time, whilst the development of 2.2.3 will be regulary updates?

Any way if it is the case they can be upgraded to new versions in the future, why is it recommended not to upgrade to these now, as they seem far more superior.

Also looking at the alpha version, does that mean that when its stable we will lose the nice admin that 2.2.3 has now? and will the pm and profile be re-intergrated? It looks that way in the alpha.

Yes thats true it is, but as an average joe member, you can't expect everyone to go out and seek the informatio they seek.

Most members may not know about this devteam site, there are other XOOPS sites aswell, but to find the information you want does that mean in depth searchs on them all.

People come to xoops.org as this the main hub, the one site which has been XOOPS from the begining, they expect to find the information relelvent to them here.

Devteam site implies it's for the Dev team, so why should members have to go there to find why and what.

dev.xoops again implies it's for devs, none stable modules, development modules, etc, etc, so again members should not need to go there unless they are beta testing, getting involved, etc, etc.

Members come to xoops.org for the information they need.

David, I don't mean anything nasty by this, I will go to the dev team site, but the team, can't expect all members to do this, especially not the new ones whom maybe seeking the same information.
