then may I know wat permission is set for the file block.php ? perhaps i'll move it to the /tmp/persistent/ directory of sourceforge then change its permission.. cos permissions only work there .. cache files only works there too .. no files can be written elsewhere.

btw, what do you think i can try doing since the file sometimes can be opened for reading and sometimes not .. ?

Try changing file permissions...

Otherwise, I'm currently finalising the 1.8 version. A little bit more patience, and you could try this new version (not sure this would solve your problem though...)
