Spotlight Module

With the supplied News module the Smilies show up when you view the news topic. I am using the spotlight module to display news on my home page but it does not show the smily images instead the code for it (eg :--)) is there anyway to fix with with the spotlight module or another module like spotlight that supports smilies.

I have a version I have been re-writing at XOOPS @ IBDeeming! Take a look and see if it looks like something you could use. It took a backseat to other projects I had in the pipe, but I could polish it up for download...
