How to uninstall deleted modules???

Hello,
how can I delete Modules from the Admin which are not proberly uninstalled? Someone deleted them via ftp and when I try to uninstall them I get the following error message:

Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /.../modules/system/admin/modulesadmin/main.php on line 229


Any ideas?

Reupload them, deactivate and then uninstall. Delete the files when done.

A part of the System module has been deleted.
You can fix it by uploading the System module that came with your XOOPS version to the server.

Unfortunately this is not working.

I will get the same error message. And the module is not working, although it is shown in admin-section. But when I try to open it I get the message: 'the selected module does not exist'.

How can I solve this problem?
It is the news-module and I need to install it again.
