I did get the install page to appear, However, at the end of the install it said that it XOOPS could not connect to the database. And now I get this message

"This page cannot be displayed due to an internal error.

If you are the administrator of this site, please visit the XOOPS Troubleshooting Page for assistance.

Error [Xoops]: Unable to connect to database in file class/database/databasefactory.php line 34"

What would this mean?

also how would I stop the XOOPS directory from Browsing?

ok lets say you have an sql account.. first you should create your sql database.. then create a user and password for that database in order to have access in tables etc.. the user and pass should be the one will be put in your XOOPS installation
