Users will be able to upgrad to 2.4 from both 2.0.x and 2.2.x. IMHO, I would say that it is better to stick with 2.0.x.

I have it on my "todo" list to start testing my 2.2.x site being downgraded to the 2.0.x series. However, it may not be possible which does kind of irritate me. I wish I had been aware of this before ever starting with 2.2.x; maybe this should be a little more obvious to future users?
