I just tried for the 3rd time to upgrade my XOOPS site (http://VMCLinks.com ) to the new XOOPS version (2.2.3)

I have turned on php debug and turned off gzip, I deactivated all odd modules only keeping modules like News and Forum active.

Upgrade seams smooth no odd errors in php debug; outputs are only Notices.
Database upgrade has no errors all fields are being inserted or updated fine.

My problem

When I go to the Admin site after the upgrade some of my menu block and items are missing. Following is a list of what I have in the menu. For example the Tools menu does not show up at all and the Misc. Tools menu is empty. I don’t know what to do anymore, I will restore back to the 2.0.13.1 version and hope someone can give me an idea.

Thank you for taking the time.

Dennis

If you are going to 2.0.13.1 - I would recommend updating to 2.0.13.2 as soon as possible.

There seams to be no upgrade available from 2.0.13.2 and I really am hopping that I will find away to upgrade.

As of right now, I wouldn't recommend upgrading to 2.2.x as it is the unstable branch of XOOPS. Just go with 2.0.13.2 for now. You can find the upgrade script from 2.0.13.1 >> 2.0.13.2 at the following link...

https://xoops.org/modules/core/singlefile.php?cid=&lid=119

Best Regards,

James

I did the upgrade to 2.0.13.2 but I have some trouble with that and also had it with 2.0.13.1.

My home made blocks and also some module blocks don't show.
They are there in the admin section but even if I modify them, they don't show up upfront. Actually you can see the heading but not the content.
I din't worry about them as long as I was concidering upgrading because those do work if I upgrade to 2.2.x

Am I the only one having all these probles suddenly?

Check system admin - Templates. See if any templates need gemerating there. Espeacially if using cloned sets you may need to do this manually.

I have some of those, for example:

system_block_dummy.html
and
addresses_visitlink.html

when i tried to generate them I get following error:
Selected file does not exist)

The default template doesn't have those either except system_block_dummy.html and when I try to upload that the system tells me that I don't need that one and stops.

I switched to the default template to see if this even is an issue. Switching to the default templates did not fix the problem.

***************************

While I was playing with all this I have realized that my upload directory had no write permission so uplading wasn't possible untill I changed that.

Now i am thinking if that had anything to do with my problem of upgrading to 2.2.3.
I don't think so since I had uploaded all files but still can you guys tell me about this?

You seem to have currupted files. Re upload the system module and update it in the modules administration.

You are the man jdseymour.
The block problem is fixed.
And I will wait and not upgrade for now.
But I will try to upgrade to the new forum, promised my users some new futures!

Thank you
