Using XOOPS 2.2.3 and newBB 2.3

I noticed that non-admin users can't choose full-text notifications of new posts.

I assume that I would need a "hack" to enable this - has anyone either done this before, or able to do it now? I just can't work it out.

A search only turned up this:

which (I assume) related to an old version of newBB. Someone had suggested that this would be a good feature for a new version.

I'm looking for this ability myself.

Also, it would be great if the Full Text notification that is sent out included the username or display name of the one making the post.
