I can only see my main menu when I'm logged in.

in blocks administration "main menu" is set to visible for anonymous users...and it does show the words "main menu" and "home" but none of the links in main menu appear...links, forum, news etc.

please point me in the right direction. This is driving me insane.

Check in admin panel: Users -> Groups

Here you can set admin and access rights for all the different groups.

wow. That did the trick. Thanks a bunch. I guess it's something i took for granted as being a default setting that visitors would be able to see my menu.
