I've found out that the whole line:

global $xoopsLogger, $xoopsOption, $xTheme, $xoopsConfig, $xoopsUser, $xoopsModule, $xoopsTpl;
... can be deleted.

That line just unsets the vars and redefines it as globals, so all previus content is lost.
