I want to set of "the date of posting" and "how many times the news is read".

How can i disable that?

I am using new 1.42 and XOOPS 2.0.13.1

Re: News module problems

Look in the templates folder inside of the news module. You can edit the links there. Then upload and write over these on your server...

/public_html/modules/news/templates

You can also edit the themeplate directly...

System Admin >> Templates >> Cloned Template Name >> News List

You might need to do a quick up date on the news module and or clear templates_c and you should be good to go.

that didn't work

only viewing, not editing

But edited the file and updated the news module in the system admin --> modules
that did work
