HTML - Shows code when editing blocks

Not sure what I am doing wrong, but when I try and add html (hyperlinks or images) within a block's copy, it shows the code in the text when displayed by the browser..help please.

ex:
ONLINE STORE
Our online store will be coming soon...

The above copy shows the html on my page and not the link and image..??

If you are using actual HTML code such as use HTML mode for your custom block.

If using XOOPS code [ b][ /b] use the autoformat mode. All these options can be selected from a dropdown menu at the bottom of the custom block edit form.
