Is there anyway to upgrade it from 1.4.1 final to a later version such as 2.0.4 or even later please somebody give me some insight can i just upload the ipb files for the latest version since i hold the copyright or is this not possible?

Hi Romo... possible if you're using hacked version from www.bbpixel.com. I believe koundanshi can help you integrate the xoops2 + ipb2
