The Tiny Conent Menu and Shoutbox blocks won't display on my site. I have set all the groups permissions, and made them visible. I have done this on other sites and no problems, but can't figure this out...help?

Using XOOPS 2.0.10 btw.

thanx

Are you getting any Smarty debug output?
Is it the site in your profile?

If it's the site in your profile, I notice Google Ads in the source, but they were not being rendered on the page. Try removing the Google ads and see if there is a conflict.

No, it's a different site, it's my beta testing site, which requires login.

And I am not sure where to view Smarty debug info. I am still new to the "Smarty" concept.

To turn on Smarty Debug, go into your Admin Section. Under Preferences Main »» General Settings »» Debug mode, select SMarty Debug. Now browse your site. The Smarty Debug output will be displayed in a pop up window.

Thanks!

Actually, right after my last post I figured it out.

I have the blocks set to diplay, but they don't show in the Smarty debug info. So it's like they aren't there, even tho I have them set to show.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sorry to keep replying with more questions, but...

Are you getting any PHP Debug or MySQL Debug errors?

Also, I just noticed that your site is running on 2.0.10. You're running a version of XOOPS that has known security issues. My recommendation is that you upgrade to XOOPS 2.0.13.1 ASAP! You will need to upgrade your site incrementally like so:

2.0.10 => 2.0.12 => 2.0.13 => etc.

In addition to security fixes, there have been numerous bug fixes since 2.0.10 as well. You may find that your issue has been resolved by uprading. If not, please let us know so one of us can continue trying to track down the cause.

Best Regards,

James

Edit: I just noticed that this was my 1,000 post. It's official... I'm addicted to XOOPS

WORD!

That fixed it. Altho I was only able to upgrade to 2.0.13, as there seems to be something wrong with the 2.0.13.1 upgade patch. It doesn't downlod like normal, and after I finally got it, it wouldn't extract. But no matter, 2.0.13 seems to work fine. Thanx again!
