Hi everyone :)
I really need your help, we have set up XOOPS and I love it but I have one problem at the moment: WHen I click on Admin Index it comes up with the following.....

WARNING: File D:/Sites/xoops/www/mainfile.php is writeable by the server.
Please change the permission of this file for security reasons.
in Unix (444), in Win32 (read-only)

Any ideas at all?

Thanks heaps
Alana

You have to access your site via FTP or cpanel filemanager or whatever way you normally acess the files on your site and change the permissions on mainfile.php to 444 its probably at 777 or something right now, basically your changing the permissions so its not world readable or writable.

Ask you host if your not sure how to change file permnissions.

Or if it's installed locally on your computer browse to mainfile.php right click it select properties and make it read only.

Assuming you are using cpanel then click on file manager then click on public_html folder then click on mainfile.php then look to upper right and click on change permissions and change to 444.

Sorry guys, I have put you on the wrong track. The installation is being done on a Microsoft 2003 Server, IIS6, PHP 5.0.5 and MySQL 4.1.14 and a friend is doing the install on his local server for me. The security warning is probably a red herring and Server 2003 related. All permissions on the file are READ Only but we still get the warning.
