I'm TRYING to install XOOPS 2.2.2 on WinXP with Apache 2.0.54, PHP 5.0.5, and MySQL 4.1.

I have spent the last two days trying to get past the database installation, then got to a blank screen, tonight, I thought I got all the way through the installation, when once again, it froze, and I got the following litany of error messages ...

After that, nothing.

Can ANYONE tell me what the heck I'm doing wrong or what is wrong with one or all of these programs?

At wits end! Thanks!

Re: NOTICE ... lots of PHP error messages during installation. PLEASE HELP!

Try using an earlier version of XOOPS

e.g XOOPS 2.0.13.1

It'll be more stable.

Hi

Maybe this is the reason why:
Warning [PHP]: main() [function.include]: Failed opening 'C:/Program Files/Apache

I had the same problem on a "homemade" (xp)wamp server at home. So I installed the old FOXSERV last stable version (you may find it in Google) and 2.2.2 is runing well in my home-computer.

But you will see the php-notice message as well as before but take it easy it is a NOTICE and not an ERROR.
in valid code we trust

I took your advice and downloaded and re-installed the earlier "more stable" Xoops. Once again, it went through the entire installation prcess to the point that it asked for my admin name, password, e-mail, etc. It even made me re-enter my e-mail because I put in me@localhost rather than my real password, so it noticed a lack of .com at the end.

I re-entered my real e-mail address, hit next, and once again it froze. The server timed out on me, and my APACHE error message reads...

[Mon Sep 12 00:54:26 2005] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] PHP Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in C:\\Program Files\\Apache Group\\Apache2\\htdocs\\class\\database\\mysqldatabase.php on line 86, referer:http://localhost/install/index.php
[Mon Sep 12 00:54:59 2005] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] script 'C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Apache2/htdocs/recovery.php' not found or unable to stat

ANy suggestions?

Ready to give up!

Re: NOTICE ... lots of PHP error messages during installation. PLEASE HELP!

Maybe try it again (the install)

It could be some temporary time-out glitch...

It sounds like you're working hard at it!

XOOPS is usually really easy to install so it's odd you're having such problems...

good luck!
