I use xcgal module to manage all my website galleries but at this moment my host harddisk cuota is about to finish (I have 1GB HDD cuota) and I wonder if there is "way" or a gallery module that could manage images hosted in other webs like http://www.imagevenue.com or imageshark, or even any host. I think hosting only thumbs in my site and full size pics in other hosts will save me many cuota.
Any idea?

I'm also looking for a solution to host modules on external servers (xoopsgallery in my case). I'd like to get a discussion going with potential solutions.

The easiest way is to use iframe inside a content module. If you use a theme at the remote server that strips unneeded blocks, headers, etc it doesn't look too bad. This doesn't solve issues of authentication when users need rights for uploading etc.

I'm wondering if some sort of module is possible that would allow two (or more) XOOPS sites to share specified modules/content. This would be different than a multisite hack since the two servers would not likely be able to share MySQL communications directly because of locations.

It isn't too much trouble to manually sync user tables. We would want to pass authentication between sites (or not) or at least server authentication so that remote content can be seamlessly shared while using mostly the bandwidth of the target servers depending on where the content resides.

Meanwhile you can try a simple iframe trick. You want the remote end to use a stripped down theme that matches your local theme in style and doesn't present the extra bits of a normal site.
