Well i have my site on XOOPS 2.0.13 and i am not sure how good is the new version 2.2.2.

1.What i mean, does the new version fix so many important things ?
2. Will it mess up my site because i have most of my news and blocks names on Greek ?
3. I saw that on some users it messed up their MySQL and other databases and also they lost their user accounts, so it is also possible for me to mess up ?
4. What can i do so updating will not mess up my site and databases ?
5. Also if i update will my modules from 2.0.13 work on the new 2.2.2 ?
6. Is the best now to wait for onother version or to update to 2.2.2 ?
Thanks in advance...

1. The main thing about 2.2 is it adds lots of requested features (like editable user profile fields for instance.)

2. I do not know if a greek language PAC is available yet.

3. It is impossible to completely loose data if you backup (both files and database) before changes are made. If problems happen you can easily regress to the previous installation.

4. Backup as stated in #3

5. If the modules strictly followed the XOOPS API they will work, if the developers did not then the module may not work.

6. That depends on you. There are currently no security reasons to upgrade. The only reason to upgrade for now is whether you need the new features offered or not. I would suggest running a test site to see if there are any problems before upgrading any production site.
