I know, everybody loves them. But I do not want my users to use them when posting to newbb or writing comments. Does anybody has an idea how I can switch to just a simple form and get rid of all the wysiwyg-stuff? On the other hand, I would like to keep the smilies

You can pick which editors are available in the newbb module preferences. Just select the default dhtml editor if that is the only one you want available.
