Hi all, I've been trying to find my ideal articles module for some time without success, and I'm a bit tired after trying out quite a few of the modules in the repository (esp since I juz started so I'm on XOOPS 2.2 and many of the modules do not work). I'd like to know whether there's any articles module that allow frontside management? As in I can let a group of users, call them publishers, who can on the frontside see a list of articles pending approval, and juz click on a button to approve the articles? I think this is a good feature because I dun want users to have access to the admin menus, and furthermore it can be daunting for a non-techie to get into the admin side. Thanx for any suggestions.

If you give the users admin access to certain modules, all other access is not seen in the administration control panel. They will only have the admin links to what they have access to.

So in other words, if you only give a user admin access to the news module, when they enter the administration control panel, only the link to the news module will be there.

Yes but they will still have access to other admin matters within the module, like creating categories and such. In a way what i want is for people (publishers) to manage articles and not the module. Also I'm quite obstinate about users (inlcuding publishers) to have a consistent experience, meaning they shouldnt have to get out of my default theme and see the admin side. Perhaps I have to do some hacking myself. Thanx for the reply anyway.

The AMS or News modules should be able to do this using the "approvers" permission.

Tried out AMS, I see what you mean. But it doesnt seem to work very well with XOOPS 2.2.1? Guess I have to wait awhile.

As far as I'm aware the only thing that doesn't work in 2.2.x that did in 2.0.x is Koivi editor (which is not the default editor).

There's a whole list of errors about constants being already defined, as well as this when submitting articles:

Warning: Call-time pass-by-reference has been deprecated - argument passed by value; If you would like to pass it by reference, modify the declaration of [runtime function name](). If you would like to enable call-time pass-by-reference, you can set allow_call_time_pass_reference to true in your INI file. However, future versions may not support this any longer. in d:\easyphp1-8\www\xoops\modules\AMS\class\idgobject.php on line 64
