Hello, i'm using XOOPS 2.0.13, and i have problem with original polls module.
First poll was OK, but when i set next one, the script does not count the votes :(
I tried uninstall and reinstall this module, but again the same. There were no errors displayed during voting, the script thanks for the vote and nothing happens :(

What can be wrong?
Or can i install any similar module?

(the rest of modules work fine)

Greetz, malcolm_x

ps sorry for my english :)

Check and see if you happened to enable cache on the block or the module. If you did it will not update the count until the cache updates.

If it is not that go through the debug modes, mainly PHP and MySQL debug to see if there are any errors showing when voting.

HTH.

Thanks for reply.
No, it's not cached.

But how should I go through the debug modes?

OK, i've switched mySQL then PHP debug mode, but it didn't help me :(
Problem is, that counting votes works fine for registered users, and works bad for anonymous.
My polls are anonymous, and you can't switch on the debug modes for anonymous users

When anonymous user votes, the script thanks for voting, and doesn't count the vote

Please help me ...

How are you testing this?

The polls module records the voter's ip address and won't let the same address vote twice. It also creates a cookie after you vote.

So if you are testing by first voting logged in, then anonymous, it won't work because the cookie has already been created. And if you clear the cookie and try to vote, it checks your ip and again won't let you.

I think that could be the reason it appears not to work...

Each time i test voting i use another IP, and clear all cookies. I have dynamic IP with ADSL connection so it's no problem.
I've tested on IE and FF.

Besides XOOPS thanks me for vote!
If you try to vote from the same IP XOOPS warns you.

So, still i can't fix the problem :(
You can see yourself - www.akwarium.net.pl
The poll is on the right below.

But maybe there is another polls module i can use instead?

There is a new poll module being developed apparently... but no idea when it will be ready (I think it is Rowdie who is developing it)
