When applying changes to the general settings (Preferences -->System-->General settings), it goes to a page which says (No error message specified). No changes are being saved. I changed the site name/default themes.

Am I doing something wrong? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I am sort of a newbie too ...

But my first thought was ... have you CHMOD'd all the folders & files to the proper permissions?

I "think" that was what I experienced when I first started using XOOPs. One file or one folder or ??? that I missed. For the life of me I don't remember the exact one now though. Sorry.

Thanks for the reply. There are 2 things I did post install. Removed the install directory and changed mainfile.php permissions to readonly.

I have tried changing the permissions on others but still no luck.

Still struggling...
