major problem after moving files

I tried to move all of the xoop files from /html/* to the apache2-default folder so that people didn't need to type in http://www.fqdn.net/html/*

copying them across meant that a number of modules didn't work.

I copied them back to the html folder but now the banners dont work properly and I cant get into the admin section (when I do it says this is you first time visiting click here and then loops again).

Do I need to reinstall from scratch??

Cheers,
Dean*/

Re: major problem after moving files

You did not mention in your post whether you edited mainfile.php to reflect the new physical and virtual paths after the move. This is required to get the site working properly.

Also after making changes be sure to empty both the template_c and cache folders as they may still hold files pointing to the old path.

HTH.

Re: major problem after moving files

did you mean to delete all files in the template c include index.html?

also what cache are you referring to? there is no cache folder in the /var/apache2-default section.

Also for when I install next time is there a way that when users log in it wont show apache2-default, can I just have the http://www.fqdn.net/*
